🌅 Enjoying the Dock
Our lakefront setting is one of the highlights of the property, and our new dock is designed to make it easy to slow down and enjoy the water. Whether you’re watching the sunset, launching a paddleboard, relaxing with a drink, or simply taking in the lake views, it’s a wonderful place to spend time.
Lake levels and weather can naturally affect water depth and conditions, so we simply ask that everyone use good judgment around the water.
A few gentle reminders:
- 🚫 No diving or jumping from the dock. Water depth can vary and may be shallower than it appears.
- 👨👩👧 Children should always be supervised near the water.
- 👣 Please walk rather than run on the dock, especially when surfaces are wet.
- 🦺 Life jackets are strongly recommended for swimming, paddleboarding, kayaking, and other water activities.
- ⛈️ Avoid swimming during storms, poor visibility, or after dark.
🦺 Life Jackets
We have a selection of life jackets available for guest use. If you’re bringing children, or have one that fits you especially well, we recommend bringing your own.
Please wear a life jacket whenever you’re out on the water.
🏊 Swimming at the Lake
If you choose to swim, we recommend staying away from the main boating channel directly in front of the dock.
For a quieter and more comfortable swim, stay closer to the sides of the dock and shoreline, where you’re farther from regular boat traffic.
🚤 Please remain alert to boats, wakes, changing water depth, and lake conditions at all times.
🌦️ Lake & Weather Awareness
Hyco Lake is an active recreational lake, so conditions can change throughout the day with wind, boat traffic, weather, and seasonal water levels.
💧 Wet dock surfaces may be slippery, and water temperatures can vary considerably by season. Please take a little extra care during early mornings, evenings, cooler weather, or changing conditions.
🛶 Paddle Sports
We provide stand-up paddleboards and Kayaks for guests to enjoy during their stay.
🦺 Please wear a life jacket, use all equipment responsibly, and be mindful of boat traffic and changing water depth near the shoreline and dock.
🌿 A Natural Lakefront Setting
One of the pleasures of staying at Hyco Lake is being surrounded by nature. The shoreline, wooded areas, and water are home to a variety of native wildlife.
- Please be aware of your surroundings, especially around the shoreline, rocks, vegetation, and dock edges.
- Give any wildlife you encounter plenty of space and enjoy it from a distance.
- We recommend wearing shoes when walking along the shoreline or through natural areas.
- Please don’t attempt to touch, feed, or disturb wildlife.
- At night, a flashlight is helpful when walking near the lake or through landscaped and wooded areas.
🌿 A little awareness helps keep both our guests and the lake’s wildlife comfortable and safe.

The lake is here to be enjoyed, and a little awareness goes a long way. Guests are responsible for their own safety and the safety of those in their group when using the dock, shoreline, lake, or water equipment.
